Jerry Kaufman, PhD

Research and Evaluation Manager

A longtime friend of LCLC, Jerry has always been impressed by LCLC’s holistic, community-based, and relational approach. Jerry received his Ph.D. in Sociology from the University of Chicago where he used quantitative methods to study how racist institutions and structures in the U.S. created and perpetuate racial inequalities. Jerry is passionate about working with data and building relationships to help make Chicago a more just and equitable city. Jerry enjoys hanging out with his wife and daughter, reading, cooking, watching Chicago sports (except for the team on the North Side) and exploring all things Chicago from food and coffee shops to music and art.
