Merrik graduated from Hope college in 2022 with a BA in Computer Science and Sociology with an emphasis in Criminal Justice. During college, Merrik started as an intern investigator at LCLC for a semester in 2020. The internship made him realize his interest in non-profit criminal defence work and ignited a passion for helping people hurt by an unjust system. After graduation, he returned to LCLC as the legal team investigator.
