While pursuing her undergraduate degree at Roosevelt University, Laura began working to address inequities in the criminal justice system and healthcare through policy research and advocacy. She was particularly interested in ending mass incarceration, while simultaneously improving services such as mental health treatment and education. Laura is a graduate of Chicago-Kent College of Law, where she received various awards for public service and for her work in the criminal defense clinic. After having her own criminal defense practice and then a federal clerkship, Laura joined LCLC because of its holistic approach to criminal defense and its mission to drive systemic change in the justice system within Cook County and beyond.
